Why do some knife blades have a small hole in them.
Is it a trade mark or is there a use for the hole, such as removing pincers from crayfish?

in some cases it could be a trademark, like viele's triple holes near the pivot. offhand i can't see any real uses for tehm.

There's two threads of this going. That's annoying. Don't do that.

The hole is for ease of opening, it facilitates one handed opening of a folder. A thumbstud serves the same purpose. Spyderco uses the perfect hole, and holds the trademark for it. Some other companies use different shapes.

Danelle,

The guy only has three posts!! Lighten up.:):):)

And... I like the hole on my TNT better than the Spyderco hole. Maybe you meant "perfect circular hole" not "perfect hole"!!:D :D :D

Perhaps he is refering to the "little holes" that are meant for wire cutting tools such as the Duane Dwyer which is offered at TAD?
