I'm trying to make my kydex pressings more efficient.

Any suggestions on how to make a home-made hydraulic (or other effective type of) press? Is there a way I could use a vise?

Thanks! :D

I've seen homemade shop presses that may be ideal (or not)for what you need.

Something similar to this -

This comes from Harbor Freight

You could adapt you molds / foam press to fit and then 'jack down' on it.

Only question how long do you have to mold the kydex? Unsure of how long it will take to adjust the jack/press to proper size/ thickness/ pressure.

Without buying this or another pre made it would be easier to make with access to a welder and cutting torch. CAn be made with a cheap bottle jack from Wally World.

just my idea.

At Wal-Mart they sell a 2 ton floor jack that will go about 12" in one handle stroke and the next stroke will start lifting the car. I cant remember the trade name but our son bought one and it works great. I was thinking what a nice kydex press with some mods. Check it out.
