Homemade tac vest.( lots of pics)

So I got bored the other day and wanted to make something. I had purchased a cheapy tac vest at cheaper then dirt a few years back and it was just laying around. It is poor quality but it gets the job done and would make a good backup. To start out I made some stencils and multicamed it. I didn't want to put any money into it so I came up with a pretty simple way to make mag holders. duck tape / elastic/ an old tshirt / super glue and a few zip ties to connect it. I used about an entire roll of duct tape. It really is bomb proof. Check it out. You know you want one.

Nice DIY mag pouches! How well do they stand up? (time for a range report!)

Great first attempt! I am famous (amongst friends anyway) for butchering shit gear to make good stuff like MOLLE, mag pouches, bags etc. Mostly hand stitch but I am on the prowl for a cheap industrial sewing machine for just such projects. Here is my Blackhawk 3day pack I am working on. Pm me if you want any help or advice on future projects.
The right side is done now, tomorrow i will start on the left and maybe sew the velcro loops. Right now it looks like before and after pics.

My girlfriend called me a homo the day I told her I was buying a sewing machine. The first thing I do when I get something new is figure out what it can be instead of just embrassing it the way it is. As for a range report. On longisland we have two ranges and they both suck. So many crazy rules. You can't even stand up.

A few guys in my old unit used to jest about my sewing. Till they saw my gear that is..... (or had to live with ripped bdu/acu s)
