Hoods Woods "Survival Basics" Videos

I rarely post here on BF, but I wanted to note that I recently purchased the first two installments of Dr. Hood's "Survival Basics" videos from Amazon. I thoroughly enjoyed these tapes and must express my admiration for Dr. Hood's engaging and thorough teaching style. I found that this man can articulate survival concepts in a manner which makes them immediately accessible to a wide range of students. What a pleasure it was to watch a professional educator with such command of his craft.

I second that, I received Volume 1 of the Woodmaster series as a gift for our scouting club (THANKS again Mike
smile.gif
) and our explorers likes it very much, I watched it 3 times already, twice with my kids and wife and they also like the way that Ron presents and explains/shows things very much.

Even the English is no problem for our scouting kids (and my own also) as it's very understandable.

Our club contacted Hoods Woods and Karen Hood promptly and very friendly replied and we have decided to get the whole series of video's.

Try one and then you'll probably end up getting the others also.

I just got the complete series yesterday (boy was I happy to see the UPS driver), I was up until 4:00 AM watching them. I watched 1,2,3 and CC1. I learned a heck of a lot, and I'm sure as I watch them several times and practice the skills (and practice and practice and practice) my wilderness survival skills will increase greatly. For those of us with out access to a first rate survival school, the Hoods Woods videos are a great alternative.
The videos are very well done, the skills are presented in a very instructional manner and the entertainment value is high.
Ron and Karen were great to deal with both by phone and email.
I would highly recommend the video series and Hoods Woods.

I pop them in all the time. It takes several times watching through to get all the info out of them. Ron and Karen do an excellent job. They teach while making it fun. I've got 4 of them so far, but will eventually get them all.
 
I agree!!!!!!!!!!

What also is great is that Ron & Karen are both first class people. They always takes time to talk to his customers.
