Horizontal fixed blade carry behind belt buckle

Hi All

Was wondering if anyone carries a smallish fixed blade horizontally behind their belt buckle / deep to their belt on their front ?
Been struggling to find a discrete way to carry some of my smaller fixed blades as last ditch tools and wanted to see if anyone had any pointers in this regard.

I also considered doing a sort of diagonal appendix carry.

Anyone have any experience with these carry methods or have pictures of how best to go about it?

When you say behind, do you mean to left or right of the buckle or literally behind it, between your body and belt?

Shirt tucked in or loose?

Take a look at Dave Ferry's work. He's a constant contributor to the forum and the best leatherman in the U.S.
My previous post shows a bit of his AWESOME work. He's also a custom knife-maker bar none. His website shows his leather and his knives; cannot get better...IMO. He has MANY crossdraw styles. I've owned his leather and his knives...beautiful stuff.
If you want a cheaper cross-draw unit, try Bradford knives. I've owned about nine or ten Guardian 3G's in various steels, and it is still a major contender for my everyday wear. In the pic, all of these are contenders for crossdraw carry and generally will fit in a Bradford leather sheath...darned cheap, but darned good quality leather that will last forever.
I've had a lot of his sheaths and I love 'em.

Appendix carry is best for me, I carry it edge forward around the 5 o clock position, canted. I use IWB button loops.

I have carried crossdraw EDC for at least four years or more. I also carry a clipped folder, but seldom draw it.

Why not just get a belt buckle knife? Several companies have made them over the years. I had a nice Bowen several years ago. Sold it as I got older and of greater girth :)

I mean between the belt and your pants so that the knife and sheath is completely covered by the belt

Shirt tucked in. I'm looking at this method of carry to deep conceal a fixed blade

I still have one of these with the double edge blade that's never been used. It is hidden quite well and like you the belt shrunk :p up to a 34 and no longer fits me. I really need to list it on the ex I guess as I can't wear it any longer and it just sits around collecting dust.

How small of a fixed blade? It would have to be really small to be concealed behind your buckle. And with your shirt tucked in too. It really won’t be concealed.

I've had folks ask me to build sheaths inside the belt for this reason similar to what you are trying to do behind the buckle. Reality is it just doesn't work very well. Belts want to bend and little fixed blades don't. I'm a big proponent of crossdraw and have carried personally that way for many years. In the shop working on some holsters:

Lots of folks carry my knives appendix. Our friend Emma helps on the ranch:

Emma is sixteen, she came and worked in our shop cleaning up and doing odd jobs until she had put in enough hours and earned her pair of charmitas (type of chap). I then helped her build them:

We went to this show that the wife was competing in. Judges meeting for this class, Emma on the left carrying appendix and the gal on the right had one of my knives on too (don't know her), horizontal crossdraw:

Anyhoo ya get the idea. Probably won't help ya much on the concealed carry part, at least with your shirt tucked in.

Thanks for the kind words Sonnydaze Sonnydaze !
