Is your bug out bag ready? If your preparing for a Zombie Apocalypse then you need to try Hornady's new Zombie Max ammo. I purchase a box of 9mm 115 gr hollowpoint rounds. I primary purpose for purchasing the rounds is for home and self defense. Hornady makes this round in a number of calibers 9mm 115gr - 40 S&W 165gr - 45 Auto 185gr - .223 Rem 55gr - 7.62x39 123gr - .308 Win 168 - 12 Ga 00 Buck Z Shot. So it looks like there are lots to chose from to fit most shooters needs.

Very entertaining review. Looking forward to the expansion shots once you head out to the range. Maybe compare them to other defense rounds of the same bullet type/weight. 115 gr Gold Dots come to mind.

I have some Remington UMC round nose I will shoot then a few of the Zombie Max just to get a idea of how well they will expand. At the gun shop they had a few fired shells there and they mushroomed really well.

A Plainiff Attorney is going to have fun watching the Defendent squirm in front of a jury over their choice of using Zombie Max ammo "which even the police don't use anything near this deadly! Blah, blah, blah....". Remember if you use it you have to potentially defend your choices in criminal and/or civil court. And we know court decisions are always based upon the facts and never by the emotional appeals or arguements - right! Now there certainly isn't anything wrong with this choice as a defensive cartridge although it might just cause one some additional angst and money to defend is all.

Something to ponder.

As an old wise man told me. I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. Just like that poor girl in in the MidWest that had 2 men break in on her and her baby when the husband died around Christmas time.. If it wasn't for her firearm the might have been raped or killed..

It's a pretty funny marketing scheme. I'm going to buy a couple of boxes for my son...mostly for the boxes:D Most shooter realize this is just joke, but the ammo is still good stuff...

The whole reason I purchased them was for a little laugh. Thanks for watching.

Actually we're issued Speer Gold Dot hollow points for duty carry; nasty stuff when shot into ballistic gel; mushrooms and fragments. Other Agencies are issued similar type ammo.

Perhaps your referring an attorney telling a jury the name of the ammo? Zombie Max Ammo? Is that worse than Speer Gold Dot or Ranger XT?

It may be. Idk. Its definitely something to ponder. Jury's are funny; never can tell what there gonna do.

If a prosecutor is being forced to use the name of your chosen ammunition in a trial, then he has probably already lost. Regardless, the "ammo name" argument would hardly hold up, especially if you request a bench trial.

If an industry renowned/reputable company like Kabar can pull off a Zombie line adapted for real world use, then why can't Hornady? They usually like to back their products up with alot of testing and data from the factory anyway, and I doubt they'd put their name on a product that won't perform, regardless of the intended market. If it's profits that can be put towards farther long range precision product development, then it's fine by me :D Apparently lime green is the industry standard for the Zombie Invasion now, whether it's polymer tips or molded knife scales.

To people who aren't afraid of guns this is a non-issue but you have to realize that juries have all kinds on them. Do I think a prosecutor is likely to win on this one issue alone? No, but it's just one more thing the prosecuter can use to paint the defendant as a cook. Why give the prosecuter more ammo?

If I am that worried about what some prosecutor might do somewhere down the line.......... Sorry but you might as well use a baseball bat and trade off your guns now.

I refuse to live in fear.
