hi,

i'm looking at budget knives = a chef's knife and a cleaver...............i saw Tramontina (made in Brazil) and they have good Amazon reviews........

i'm looking at Scanpan too but quality seems not that great despite higher prices and made in China................ anyone has experience with both brands ?

the 2 knives i'm looking at are as below...............

https://www.zalora.sg/tramontina-tramontina-8-chefs-knife-cronos-1922907.html (has a 1 piece stainless steel blade and handle, i think)

Neither are going to knock your socks off, but the Tramontina is probably the better of the two. I've got a couple of Scanpan kitchen knives that ride around in the truck camping gear, and they are fine. Both companies make commercial kitchen stuff, and I'd guess that both of those are not their bottom tier. Hope that helps some. At the end of the day they are both single piece stainless kitchen knives, which are fine if that is what you want.
Also, linking out to non-sponsor companies is generally not advised. If you want, just edit the links out and list the brand and model, most folks here will have a pretty good idea.
Another idea would be to list your selection criteria that brought you to those knives, and you might get some other suggestions that you might have overlooked. Lastly, Welcome.
