I am an American who lives in Israel. There's been a slew of terror attacks lately. Guns are really hard to get, and carrying knives is illegal, punishible by 5 years in prison. Batons are legel here. But from some strange reason, though you can buy any other kinda of baton,
RCP Peacekeepers are only sold to LEOs. Is there a way I can get one? This isn't self defense against some guy I had an argument with on the street, these are terrorists hell bent on 72 virgins. I need real stopping power.

I normally don't carry anything for SD as domestic crime is low, but this isn't self defense against some guy I had an argument with on the street, these are terrorists hell bent on 72 virgins. The only way I know of to legally acquire an RCMP baton would be to join the RCMP and graduate from their training program.

Unless the baton fires bullets out of it, it's not going to have any real stopping power.

A good solid wooden cane is basically a 3' club you can carry almost anywhere , even on plane and in security zones .

At least in USA, is protected right to carry anywhere by Federal law .

With some training and practice it can be highly effective . Has reach advantage over most knives and smaller impact weapons .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Probably not great for stopping T's with AK's and RPG's !

I think when most people hear "terrorist" they think someone armed with a gun or bomb. But these days it's not uncommon for a terrorist to arm themselves with a knife and go on a stabbing spree. One determined man with a knife can do a lot of damage, especially in a crowded place.

While a bludgeon would be of little value against someone armed with a gun, if a guy were coming at you with a knife, a good stick or similar item could be used very effectively to stop, or at least disarm the attacker.

As far as "stopping power", I think a good whack to the head with the right club could very well drop a person in their tracks.

You mean a RCB baton from peacekeeper products? Send them a mail and ask them if they have a distributor in Israel?
I carried and used a collapsible baton as a rapid intervention cop in a non american city for more then 10 years. With a 1000+ deployments i am convinced a collapsible baton is not an effective stopper. I had numerous interventions where the suspect wasn't impressed when i hit them full force on their legs and arms. I'm a big guy 6'4" but that ASP just didn't do the job. I carried a blackjack when working in civilian attire and that worked most of the time. Go for something massive like wood or even better solid, flexibel weighted rubber and go for old school head shots. Sure the collapsible baton looks cool when you deploy it, it's handy to carry around, but it doesn't stop a crazed or drugged out or determined attacker trying to kill you. But if this gives you a feeling of safety go for it.

That's exactly what I heard online. Batons don't really work when used not lethally, and there are very few occasions where hitting someone in the head his called for. That's why I want a peacekeeper. It's heavier and weighted at the business end. I mean the people I would be using the Peacekeeper on are already hell bent on going to paradise, so you know. Nothing to hold back, nothing to lose. I wrote Peacekeeper twice, they didn't answer me. I'll check out those other weapons. At least for now the terror wave appears to have been thwarted by the shabak (Israeli version of FBI). Thanks

BTW for what is worth, I was using google translate to see if any european countries might sell me a Peacekeeper. I didn't have any luck, but I did learn that baton in German is Schlagschtok. Best name ever for a baton.

I would like to remind you that the blackjack, cosh ( in the U.K.) or Sap is banned in most democratic countries due to it's effectiveness. It's definitely a lethal weapon if used on the head. IMHO in a true self defense situation it's better to survive and face the jury later but you should realise that effective weapons are banned because they are effective ( firearms in the USA are the exception). You will crack their skull if you hit someone over the head with one.
You can improvise nice impact tools with lead balls ( heavy fishing weights) and paracord. Called a slungshot they where used by sailors in the old days. Another one is a heavy lead ball in a monkey fist knot.
Info is just for entertainment purposes.

I didn't know what these weapons were. I've seen them before, but I thought it was some kinda of BDSM fetish toy. They look quite nasty. I have no idea if they are legal in Israel. I feel like all this energy spent on SD weapons could a waste, as the terror wave maybe dying down. Hard to say til the media reveals near misses, or if something actually happens. I need to find out if it's legal anyways. Of course if things get crazy again, you have to do what you have to do.

Nevermind, there was an attack just now, and unlike the last big wave in 2015 when they used mostly knives, they are now using guns. Batons, blackjacks, flapjacks, it's all the same

What about a walking cane/stick? Cold Steel makes some that are almost indestructible and relatively inexpensive. I personally have and use one of their blackthorn walking sticks. This will give you a few more inches of reach over a baton.

Double post?

I didn't know which forum to post and it wouldn't let me delete the other one

True but I feel a bit young to be walking around with a cane. Any good recommendations for a fighting cane that not obvious?
