i want a lanyard on my 9 and 4 but i cant tie knots worth a damn. so how do i put a functional lanyard on these knives

1) Tie two pieces of paracord together
2) Thread loop through lanyard hole
3) Thread knot through loop formed by threading loop through the lanyard hole
4) Pull on the knot
you should have a functional lanyard.

Hope this helped...

Hahaha this reminds me of me. I ended up using a snake knot (I think?) and creating a wrist lanyard out of some nylon rope on my BK9. It wasn't too difficult, though it took me a few tries because I suck. Just do a google search and lots of good stuff will pop up and I'm sure people will be posting pics and stuff to help you out. I can't post anything right now because I'm at work but hopefully I'll get to post some pictures later tonight.

Personally I like to tie mine off with a standard lanyard knot (diamond knot). I put one shortly after the end loop, and another at the end of the lanyard, then just slip the loop through the hole in the knife and put the other end of the cord through and pull tight. Looks like this:

I just use a length of 550 cord, with the ends melted, and use a cord lock.

Very good video.

+1

I find it relaxing and enjoyable to spend some time making diamond knots, and square, cobra, and king cobra lanyards (and learning new knots) - but if you just need something functional, easy, and quick - this the way to do it. A "double knot" in the ends at step 1 is really all you need to secure it.

Actually the most important thing for me is how you loop it into your hand, in particular NOT just around the wrist like a bracelet.

I wrap in like a police baton. Over the thumb and over the back of the hand. Locks in nice and tight.

I just tie a simple overhand knot that is adjusted for my handsize.
