I have an orange UKPK and i've been carying it daily for a few weeks and brought it camping

I love the orange handle handle but it tends to get dirty, what do you use to clean G10?
I tried regular dishwashing soap but it didn't work out that good

WD40 works great on black g10. I don't know why it wouldn't work on any other color. Try it. Afterward you're done, wipe it down to get as much off as you can. Blow with an airgun if you have access to a compressor. If not, I guess a keyboard duster airgun thing works well enough.

Maybe even citrus solvent and an old tooth brush or something even finer. G10 is pretty impervious stuff.

Has anybody found that their Spyderco G-10 gets a lot smoother over time? I am relatively new to this, but by 3rd G-10 Spydie and feeling them smooth out, I'm thinking the G-10 is just wearing.

Yes, I got a couple of the same a few months ago, and the one I have been using is a bit smoother now. It still has plenty of grip though, and assume it always will. But your right, they do smooth a little.

On the orange g-10
My black g-10 gets dirty very easy because of the nice grippy scales. I have a couple of orange millies, and have hesitated to carry one yet for fear of it getting ugly/dirty looking.
So I will be watching this thread. Someone has had to have got one very dirty and knows a good quick way to clean it.

While I like the looks of Orange G-10, it does get dirty. Toothpaste and a medium bristle toothbrush works well. I've found it to be a great detergent for G-10.

Toothpaste is also great to wash your hands with after cleaning fish.

Tooth brush and some hot soapy water.

Won't get it all, but it will clean it up pretty well.

I spray a crappy toothbrush with windex, a lot of it, and scrub. Then wipe off your blade and dry it off, it works well. G10 is more chemically resistant than you think, almost impervious, so don't worry about damaging it.

I use metal polish. The particular brand I have on hand right now is Maas. It's available at WalMart with the cleaning supplies. Flitz is probably better but a little more difficult to find.

I just use the corner of a rag and wipe it on, rub, and wipe it off. Leaves the material grippy and clean.

+1 on the metal polish. works great. don't overuse it though

Yeah, I've heard magic eraser works. I need to snag one and clean my orange para2. It's kind of blue from my jeans.

I clean my orange millie/P2 and other light colored G10 Spydies with soap and water. It seems to work well for me but I'm not super anal about them looking like new.

^ tnis is why i love peel ply cf; it doesnt wear as much as g10 does

Magic Eraser, (or something similar), works great. They will look good as new. Learned this trick from Kalashnikov12345.

+1 on the Magic Eraser. I got the "outdoor" type, which is made for use on grills, vinyl siding, etc. and it stronger than the household version. It does a great job on G10.
