How good are shaving knives?

If you can pick one up with out any pitting to it try and snag a genco fluid steel razor, that's what i use and my god it is a close shave

i do have to maintenance the edge quite often to keep it so

will post pics in a bit

those arent original scales..... after 3 generations of use they fell apart.... its stained zebra wood with a screw bit to hold it together, blade is original though

Thanks for the information, I would suggest to use some good razor blades similar to the bombay shaving company.

Used a Spyderco DeLeuw friction folder before I got a real straight razor; worked fine
