Just reciever a benchmade 940. And I'm very happy with it exept with the fact that the blade isn't centerd. This bothers the crap out of me. Can this be fixed, I hate to send it to benchmade only for a little off-centered blade.

Here's a pic of it

I read the following on another site. I may give it a try on my Subrosa:

1. Open blade to 90 degrees and tighten pivot so that it is really tight.
2. Close the blade and loosen frame screws so they aren’t tight, but still holding the frame together.
3. While the blade is still in the closed position, pull blade towards the side you want the blade to move. In my case, I pulled the blade toward the liner/scale.*
4. While pulling blade, tighten the frame screws.
5. Loosen the pivot and adjust it to the desired tension.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to wait till tomorrow to stop by ace to get a torx set. Hopefully it works for me👍

Not mentioned: When seeking the proper Torx drivers, select T6 for handle and clip screws and T10 for the pivot bolt. And yes, the blade centering technique in the above posts work fine most of the time. Have patience with adjusting the pivot tension, the 'sweet spot' can be really small sometimes.

I'd leave it alone if it does not touch either side. Rest easy with it. Sometimes screws are held in with locktite and if you adjust and don't use locktite...you may lose the screw or the knife will loosen up with use and the blade will start to rub.

agree with the above poster. The OP 940 looks just a bit off centered so nothing really needs to worry about. That being said, it should be fairly easy to center perfectly per instructions given by another poster above.

Can easily be centered mate, just need to loosen it all up and keep the blade firm in place to the side you want the correction to be at. Or just hold it centered while you slowly tighten the handle screws. Mine came exactly like yours, now it is dead nuts centered, like all 4 of my 940 series knives.

Does this method work on the Benchmade Bugout, too? Mine is a little off-centered.

Yes. More specifically, follow the instructions given in another dedicated thread in this subforum, almost all off-centered blades can be corrected, regardless of the lock type. If you do not have a vice, sticking your blade in between drawers or a door and its frame shall work too.
