How to delete account and start over?

Not sure how to contact the mods, but Blues will know what I’m talking about.

I made the mistake of making multiple accounts, using them both, and got caught. It was in bad taste, and a foolish move. I owned up to it, regret my mistakes, and won’t do it again.

I am being followed and harassed by a few members here, and I’m quite frankly getting really tired of it.

How do I delete my account so I can make a new one and start over without the harassment? I tried just making a new one and not accessing this one, but the new on got deleted again for being a duplicate.

I just want to put the past behind me and rejoin the knife world to have meaningful discussions.

You can ask for a name change for which there is a fee. I know the moderators are advised when a member gets a name change, I'm not really sure whether other members would be aware.

You cannot create a new account without Spark giving you special dispensation. If you do so, it will be banned and you will be suspended or banned.

If you cannot learn to stop engaging in spats with other members, who have been warned not to continue, perhaps you should take some time off.

Anyone following you around and trolling you will be dealt with separately. Use the report button. That goes for everyone.

I tried not engaging and just reporting, but then my thread gets locked, ending the actual discussion, and the perpetrators just follow me to the next thread and harass me again.

I know I shouldn’t engage, but at some point it gets hard not to clap back when it continues to happen. I know they are baiting and I take the bait, but I honestly just want to have normal discussions without fear of being baited/harassed and then having my thread locked, even if I don’t engage and just report.

If Spark could make an exception, that would be awesome.

Easy. Hover your cursor over their name. You get a pop-up. Click "ignore." You'll never have to see them ever again.

They may still respond to you, but everyone will eventually notice their arguments are one-sided, and they'll look foolish.

Frankly, life would be much simpler if bullies, pedants, and boors were born with "ignore" buttons on their foreheads. But they're not. Instead, we all need to develop the self-control and wisdom to ignore those who have unsavory behaviors.
