How to modify G10?

I am looking at buying a Kershaw Thermite, but I'm not too fond of the design etched into the G10. I am not familiar with working with G10, so I am wondering if it would it be possible to sand down the G10 flat until the design was gone, or would it be too slick to have any grip? How can I modify it so it has a plain texture like the scale on a ZT 0566 or 0350?

You can just sand it down.
Still plenty of grip imo, just don't inhale the G10 dust (toxic)
