Alright, this is kind of embarassing I guess, but I have never paid for anything through money order. I guess it's just the high tech world we live in where you only need a credit card and a computer, but yes, I am in the dark. And now, it seems that USPS MO is the way to go for many things, so I was wondering, how exactly do I go about paying for something through money order? (I think I understand, but do not want to take chances) Thanks a bunch everyone! ^_^

 You go to the post office, tell them you need a money order for X amount of dollars, then fill it out and send it to seller. Pretty easy stuff:)

Danny, it's really easy, especially after you've done it once or twice! I find them easier than certified check, and I haven't gotten myself interested in the intricacies of Paypal.

Go to any post office. Tell them you want a money order for X dollars. They will want X dollars and ninety cents from you, and will then print you out the money order. It will have the amount in words and in numbers. Check this immediately to make sure they understood correctly what amount you wanted.

It comes in two parts. Fill out the top part as a receipt and reminder for yourself, and tear it off carefully on the dotted line. Save this forever, or at least until the merchandise you ordered arrives, and everyone is happy with the deal.

Now fill out the bottom portion. On the left, the name and address of the person to whom you're paying the money, and a box for the purpose (like, the knife you want). On the lower right, your name and address, so they know who it's from.

I generally make out an envelope, stamped and return-addressed, and bring it to the post office with me, so I can put the filled-out money order in it and send it off right away.

And take cash, I don't think they issue money orders otherwise.

Actually, you can use an ATM card to pay for a postal money order.

It makes it way too easy to buy even more stuff...

Like Mike added, you can use an ATM or CC to buy a money order. They charge somewhere around .75 cents and they are "cash".
