Per the request of

I threw together an Imgur tutorial for those of you who want to use it to host images and post them here via phone, probably more in-depth than it needs to be.

Imgur is sort of a hybrid between a social media website and an image hosting site. You can post images there publicly, or just keep everything hidden and use it as an image host (which is what I do).
First steps will be downloading the Imgur app and creating an account. The following screenshots are from an Android phone, but I believe the process is pretty similar on iOs.
When you open the Imgur app you'll see the 'Most Viral' page as a default. These are the current popular posts on the social media side of the app (apparently a cosplay and some memes when I opened the app...). Touch the 'camera' button at the bottom of the screen.
This will bring up your photo gallery as well as your camera if you want to shoot directly to Imgur. Here you can select the images you'd like to upload. You can also pick different folders on your phone if you have that set up, that would be done at the 'Gallery' with down arrow seen at the top. As you can see in the picture I have 2 pictures selected, marked 1 and 2. You can do a bunch but it might take a little longer to upload. Touch 'Next' in the upper right when you're ready.
After touching 'Next' you will see this page. This is where you can name the album of pictures and make them 'Hidden'. To do so touch the bar that says 'Public' and select 'Hidden' instead. Public posts are default. The 3-dot button to the right is where you can mark posts as mature if they're being publicly posted, or where you can rearrange your selected photos.
Once you've made all your adjustments the 'Post' button in the upper right will become 'Upload'. Touch that to upload the images to your account. If you're doing a bunch feel free to go do something else while they upload. Otherwise, just wait for a few.
If you wait in the app you'll get this screen when they've finished uploading. You can touch 'View' to see all of the images you uploaded.
Touching 'View' will take you here. This is where you can select an image to get a link for posting here, or any other forum. Click on an image...
You will get this view when you click on a specific image. Click on the "share button" (the linked dots on the right of the buttons at the bottom). This will bring up several options depending on what phone you have. On my Google Pixel 2 I get a page that shows apps I can post it to, email options, etc. The one you want is something like "Copy URL" or "Copy" or "Copy to Clipboard". That will give you a link to paste here or any other forum.
Next go to your forum post and touch the 'Image' button at the top of the post options. This brings up the window where you will paste the link you copied in the previous step. After pasting you can simply click 'Insert' and your image will be in the post field. There is one other thing I like to do with my images though...
Imgur has a really cool built in re-sizing mechanism. All you have to do is add a letter before the '.jpg' in your copied URL to change the size. I almost always use Large Thumbnail (l), as seen in the image below, but here are all your options: Small Square (s), Big Square (b), Small Thumbnail (t), Medium Thumbnail (m), Large Thumbnail (l), Huge Thumbnail (h). The letter is always lower case, using upper case will break your link.
Just for example, here is the same image as above, but re-sized to the Small Thumbnail (s).
This is what your uploaded image re-sized to Large Thumbnail might look like. Your results may be a little different, this photo was edited for Instagram.
Finally, if you close out of Imgur while your pictures are uploading you may have to get to them a different way. This will be the same way you'll use to access previously uploaded images. From the home screen of the app click the 'little person' button on the bottom right. This will bring up all of your albums and images. From here you can select albums and then go through the same steps as above for posting and image.
