How tough is titanium color anodizing?

Hello friends,

Im worried about ano wearing off and looking blotchy over time due to finger oils/grime etc. Will the color wear away and over time become plain colored titanium? I have never owned an anodized Ti knife so I'm a bit clueless.

I plan to EDC the knife for light use such as food prep or cutting cardboard/opening mail so I won't be scratching up the handle too bad.

Thanks for help

I have a knife that has a titanium oxide finish and it is very durable. On the other hand, the blue color on the titanium Spyderco Chaparral fades quickly. So, to answer your question, it depends on the finish. The good news is that it can be make like new again pretty easily.

Thanks for the reply DocT^
Do ano handles require any special care compared to regular blasted handles?

I've been wondering the same about the Wilkins fire-anodized titanium scales, but I can't seem to get an answer.

Well I do not really know but I was under the impression that Titanium Nitride or oxide coating is different from anodizing. Anodizing can be done thicker, I know, because some custom SAK makers use extra thick anodizing so it doesn't wear like the factory finish does. Which does the knife you want use?
