Hello everyone. I am to the point where I need to set up the hydraulic system on my press. I am pretty sure that I have all the components needed excluding the hydraulic lines. I was hoping that some press owners could take pictures of their hydraulic systems so I could get a better idea of how it all works. I am thinking of bringing it all to a hydraulic shop (that is if I can find one) and getting them to help me out. If anyone knows of any tutorials or sites that show the assembly of a hydraulic system that would be very helpful.

Thanks,

I just recently did the hydraulics on my own press not long ago and this is what I used to figure out the hydraulic circuit.

I also have some pics of the plumbing that I can post if you need em.
There is a basic diagram of what the circuit should look like in the pdf file. Using that and knowing what all the port sizes were I was able to order all the hoses and fittings from surplus center. That was by far cheaper for me then having hoses made locally.
IF in doubt then get help from a hydraulics shop. They'll be able to make sure you have correct hoses and fittings that you'll need.

Wow thanks a lot for that file!! :D

Pictures of how you arranged your hydraulics would be helpful also. Especially the motor to pump connection.

Thank you both for the pictures!!!

I just finished my guide set up today:), so I can start setting up my hydraulics. I can't wait to start them... I am sick and tired of drilling holes.

Guides:

That’s a 1956 pan. It's a pretty custom job. It's being built to resemble the older choppers of course. No front breaks, springer front end, and so on. It came out looking cool. :)
