Easy solution to your problem. Get a second one

Nope, the only way I'll pay that much for what I already have is if I can get it with no coating and stickier scales. And, only tapped for right side carry clip, and a deep pocket clip at that - one with a butterfly. I am one that "with proper care corrosion isn't so much of a problem with M4" takes care of his metal.

would it be too much to ask for a satin clean m4 freek? some people still like patina

The coating is Cerakote which offers the best corrosion resistance for M4.

Cerakote does well with rust but wear and show scratches with little use . DLC in my opinion is a much better way of coating a blade .
