The lock is solid and reliable, the blade shape is useful for a variety of tasks, it takes and holds a keen edge, the handle is thin and light enough for the knife to be carried easily, maintenance is very user friendly, and Chris Reeve Knives provides excellent customer support.

But that’s just my opinion.

Even though I no longer own any Sebenza's it still ranks right up there at the top. I've gone in a different direction from having been a vocal Sebenzinista, into custom tactical folders now. But that in no way diminishes my appreciation for one of the best engineered folders around! Of course not all folks will like this knife, but that's fine because you don't have to buy it if you don't like it!:D ;) :)

The Sebenza is repsonsible for more people knowing what a good knife is then almost any other knife you can mention. It is deceptively simple in its construction and maintanence. Excellant craftsmanship and the eptimy of a good everyday use knife.

No it doesn't have the flash of the various knife crazes that come and go and, it is a favorite for a lot of uninformed to bash. That still doesn't change the fact it is one of the great knives to make it to the end consumer at large.

I forget my wallet every once in a while, but I never leave home without a Sebenza in my pocket. ;)

What Architect said - because I bought one from him and it's excellent ;)

I've said it once and I'll say it again...The Sebenza is the EPITOME of precision. I have owned ALOT of folders and not one has held up to the tight tolerances of the Sebenza, IMO. If I had to only own one more folder for the rest of my life, it would be a Sebenza.

:D This must be the "anti" Sebenza Faults thread, and as such, I will cast my support towards it. The Sebenza is clearly the finest production folder out there. Is it expensive?? Sure. Top quality always is.;)

I've only had my new lg. Sebbie with the wood inlays for a few days, and am still at the fondling stage. But this knife is definitely a keeper - I love it!
James, since my knife has the two strips of wood on the front, leaving the secondary hole at the butt of the handle exposed, would Chris install a decorative stone in it? If so, at what cost? It seems that it wouldn't be that great a chore. If he doesn't do it, I imagine my jeweler would do it. Just a thought.

But what can a Sebenza do that my Boker Toplock can't do ;)

before you got one? Was it something you had to save a long time for? I finally saw one in a knife shop. Looks a lot better in real life than it does in pictures. Didn't ask to handle it, though. No use getting the sales guy's hopes up. It would probably take me a over year to save up and get one. This is in no way sour grapes. I was just curious if anyone has had to save a long time to get one.

No one make a better folder IMO! I have a Large Classic in my pocket! :D hehe

Cheers!

They make them, people buy them, people use them, some argue about them, people buy more of them...and more of them...they can't make enough to meet the demand, people still wait on delivery....:) me...and I'll have a small Classic Woodie in my pocket and a large Regular on my side...handy eh?

Nothing like a classic woodie in your pocket to spark a conversation...;)

..... and if the group gets tired of talking about your woodie, you can start talking about your Sebenza.;)
