I need a nice looking pen that uses v5 RT refills. Can you help me?!

Hey guys,

I have a favorite pen... and it's been my favorite for nearly 10 years now... but it's freaking hideous... and PLASTIC. It's the Pilot Precise V5. I started with the cap model and then progressed to the RT model after dropping the cap a number of times too numerous to recall... that and the metal clip would bend on it and it wouldn't stay in my pocket.

I know there are all kinds of pens and people have their favorites and I have tried A LOT of different pens... I have found the v5 is my nearly perfect pen. It has an extra fine point, smooth writing, I don't have to put a lot of pressure on the papers to get it to flow evenly, it'll write even in oily conditions... the list goes on and on.

My dilemma is I cannot find a nice pen that uses the refills. Surely SOMEONE has seen one I've missed, right?

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help, guys.

If you don't have a big pen store near you, I suggest you look up internet pen stores and ask them.

The v5 refill is same size as a Waterman rollerball. Waterman makes a wide selection of pens ranging from $20-30 to many $100's of dollars. A lot of other brands use this size as well. It also happens to be the refill size that fits most parts kits that are used by people who turn pens. Although if you're looking for a quality rollerball that is a 'clicky' type, your options will be more limited. If you're open to a post and cap style, the options and prices are wide open (I've turned pens that the blank and parts that cost $20 and some that cost $200).
