I just saw the informercial and its got me sold... quite expensive tho, $99.99 plus $40 shipping, plus another $40 for a second set.

but its so cool... i can blend everything!

Hopefully you're not serious.
My wife fell for that ad a couple years ago.
The motor kept bogging down & she gave up on the package. The second one she gave to our daughter, dunno if she had any better luck with hers.
I wouldn't waste the money, it's not a very robust product.
Again- hope you're only joking. If not, see above. :thumbdn:

It could be good for making individual blended drinks, but honestly doesn't seem seriously useful, everything they made on there required at least a few minutes of prep before you could blend it.

i have one & would say at best its "ok",my mom bought mine for me as a gift a few yrs ago, thus i had no idea what they cost, $100 seems little high to me for the thing, its ok for making individual drinks.

I have the ultimate chopper but don't find it very useful. It's far larger then the magic bullet and yet it's to small for many task. Take shredding cheese. You have to cut the cheese up first with a knife before using the chopper. It's easier to just use a good grater and grate the cheese by hand. I'm not sure how easy it is to clean the magic bullet but I do know these look much easier to clean on TV then they really are. I am surprised to hear that the motors are no good I find that most of these products that are advertised on TV are of top notch quality and are built to last (Though I wouldn't buy a knife set from TV). The thing is there just not as useful as they appear. Another example would be the George Forman Grill. It can only do two hamburgers at a time depending on there size and that thing is a pain to clean. Far easier to just use a Skillet to cook it and then clean it fast while the pan is still hot. As for "Knocking out the fat" It's not as though your meat re-soaks up it's own fat while cooking. It's strange really but I find I get more done using traditional tools or should I saw popular tools. And it taste better as well. I let my nose and tongue be my guide. Omelets for example you have seen on the Magic Bullet commercial how they blend up the eggs, meat, cheese, veggies to make a quick omelet. Well they do that crap at an omelet bar do they? They are armed only with a spatula and pan. Heck for eggs I teach freinds to just crack them in the pan and barely stir them with a spatula. You try and get fancy with blending and whipping them with milk they will taste like crap from a wanna be chef. And blending those eggs with the cheese as they do in the infomercial? Yuck:barf: The cheese goes in after the omelet is near done. Why? Because most cheese taste better when it's barely melted. I don't know why it just does. Mix up shredded cheese with your scrambled eggs and it taste like the crappy, soggy, over scrambled, mushy eggs we feed our soldiers.

My wife uses ours every day to make protein shakes. Its definately worth it for what she uses it for but thats just ice, water and powder.

Its small enough to leave the base on the counter all time and you can just toss the rest in the dishwashwer. I thought it was pricy when she got it but then again, how many gadgets do you use every day even if it is for a basic thing that you could use something else for.

I haven't used it for anything else.

I got one at a resale store still in the original box for $30. For that price, it's been worth it. You have to "pulse" the motor or else you'll burn it up pretty quick. IF you're going to pay full price, skip it and get a good blender or processor.

Screw that. Get a Blendtec. Then you can blend everything from golf balls, to tape measures, to ipods and glowsticks:thumbup:

blendtec... lol.

i was sorta serious, i do need a blender. seriously, the cleaning is what got me sold. just gathering opinion. haha thanks guys.

and i agree the George Foreman grill sucks. cleaning IS the downside.

and i have laughed at every single person i've seen with Miracle knives...

Its really easy to clean. Don't laugh at the miracle blade! My sister bought a Ginsu knife 20 years ago and it still works well. Yeah, its basically a hacksaw but if you need something cut it will do it. It doesn't work anywhere near as well as my knives that I keep sharp, but it does work better than the ones sitting in her drawer that are like butter knives. :)

I'm a sucker though, I love that "As seen on TV" store that they have in big airports and malls!

If you find the Magic Bullet at a large chain reseller, it's worth $30-40, but not the price commanded on the infomercial. My wife bought it on a lark and I found myself using it more than I thought I would just because I don't have to be industrious and find some of her bigger kitchen gadgets as long as the job for the bullet is within its capabilities.

I use ours all of the time to blend some eggs for scrambled eggs. I have used it to pre-blend the butter, cheese powder and milk for macaroni and cheese, rather than stir the crap out of it in the pot. I have used it to whip up small portions of home made refried beans and salsa, make my kids different flavors of fruit slushies, make fresh pesto, and it does a pretty quick job of grating hard parmesean cheeses for garnish. Used within its limitations, it's pretty handy for the limited counter space it occupies.

Trying to make it do the duty of a full sized blender or food processor is folly. It's for quick and dirty jobs and making one margarita rather than a pitcher full.

I have 2 actually. They work well. Just dont do onions in them. Very acrid tasting for some reason. Other than that they are some choppin mofos. I used mine last weekend to finely chop some nuts for a cheesecake the mrs and i made for a halloween party. Ive made the mousse desert w/ it too. VERY EZ. Whipping cream and hershey's syrup. VROOM VROOM= done. Its pretty good...although i suppose you could just go and get the chocolate whipped cream and have the same thing...but that isnt as fun...unless you are a huffer :D Just my .02 on it.

My wife has one and it has worked great for a couple of years now. It's a good little machine.

We must have bought different Bullets. :)
Just no real power, no real advantage for us over a regular blender.
