Looking at some new Buck knives the other day and noticed a stamp the shape of Idaho at the base of the blade. What does this mean? When did they start using it? Thanks.

About a year (?) ago when they moved their entire operation from El Cajon, CA
to Post Falls, Idaho.

It must have been a Buck 110 - it's for digging up potatoes...the Buck 446 is for spreading mayonnaise...the Buck 120 is for cutting melons...there's a whole bunch of specialized fruit & veggie knives... :)

YouDaMan Idaho stamp is a 2005 year model. Check out the TANG STAMP CODES referenced in the post above. Get to that page and scroll down a bit.

I picked up a 303 yesterday that has the 2006 lazy "T" on the main blade with Idaho on the sheepsfoot. I guess they were using up the 2005 sheepsfoot blades. Box was dated last April.
