Ideal Angle for Benchmade S30V

This came off the Benchmade FAQ page;
"The key is to maintain the edge angles on the blade. Our knife blades leave the factory with a 30-35 degree inclusive angle"
so that would be 15 to 17.5 dps

Nah it is worth just using the knife for what you use it the most for and tune the edge angle accordingly.
If you cut mostly string and card board then a shallower angle even less than 15° per side.
If you cut through tough or hard stuff and the edge you are using rolls or otherwise distorts then you need to go toward the wider angles.
THERE IS NO "RIGHT" ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION.
Trial and error.
If you just generally EDC and there is no troublesome material that you cut weekly.
or
you don't care to tune the edge for cutting performance that makes you grin (shallow angles) then by all means stick to the 15 to 17.5 dps.
