Hi,
new to these forums, stumbled onto it when trying to find information about a G. David Laguiole knife I fell in love with in a small store in France when I was a kid.
My dad bought it for me and I think it must have been somewhere between 1998-2003.

I remember having a hard time choosing this particular one as there were around 2 more of the same model, each with slightly different wood patterns (for obvious reasons).

There were more knifes by G. David in the store which looked like a workshop from memory.
I was curious if G. David had small shops back then (or one for that matter).

And if anyone would recognize this particular knife or model and perhaps how rare it would be.
I couldn't get it to show up in Google (image) search with quite a lot of search phrases.

Note:
I made a similar post on the General Knife Discussion forum (https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/identifying-rarity-laguiole-g-david.1920778/)
and was told that there might be a couple of French gents in the Traditional knifes subforum who might know these..

Thanks,
Bas

I know some do reconstruct a Tyrannosaurus from just a toenail but a picture of the complete knife would help.

Yeah I posted several links with the full knife visible, they won't embed like the close-up photo as I opted to have them visible via direct link versus only.
Use my Flickr for analogue photography and didn't want random photo's taken with my phone everywhere.

Here - I took screenshots of his images:

If you are going to post pictures, you might as well learn the right way......
Copy the BBCode URL of the picture on the host site and paste it in the response box here.
Using the right HTML IMG tags so the picture will appear in-line makes it so we don't have to click on links to see stuff.
This string with the URL of the picture enclosed in IMG tags -

will appear as this picture for example-

Check, overlooked the BBCode on the Flickr share dialog.

Thanks Bas for sharing your experience and the G. David Outdoor knife !!!
I can't answer the quoted question, but can only currently find one G. David shop and it's in Thiers, France.
Here's a google maps link: Arbalète G. David
The building looks as though it may be much newer than the time period you were in France.
I have no idea where they might have been previously but since they've been in business since 1810(?) in one form or another, there were likely others.
