I've been looking at the DEK1 for a while now but already bought way to many knives this monthCarothers DEK1. I could just make do with that.
Since I get to more, I guess I’d need a folder, so I’d go with my James brand Kline. Then a Bradford 3.5 in MagnaCut.
I know exactly what you mean since cooking is my one of my favorite hobbies, almost no one died due to my culinary skills as of nowWusthof 8 inch chef’s knife, Wusthof 3 inch paring knife and a medium amber bone Case Stockman, because these are the knives I use 90% of the time.
Different lifestyles call for different knives. I’m 75 years old. No longer hunt, hike, fish, camp, fightI know exactly what you mean since cooking is my one of my favorite hobbies, almost no one died due to my culinary skills as of now
I fondly remember getting the first set of really good cooking knives and how much more fun food prep is ever since
Just to clarify, that's 3 knives to satisfy all of a poster"s knife needs? Food prep, dining, EDC, all hobbies, work, etc? What knives would make the cut so to speakand even more importantly why?
Sell the others and get a DEK1. Seriously.I've been looking at the DEK1 for a while now but already bought way to many knives this monththe missus might stab me with that very blade if I was to buy another one

I think I have one of those, unused in a box somewhere.a medium amber bone Case Stockman
Is it that good? Last time I checked the dek1 sadly wasn't in stock.Sell the others and get a DEK1. Seriously.
You gave me a good chuckle that I was in dire need of since my work day was way fucked up...Just to clarify, that's 3 knives to satisfy all of a poster"s knife needs? Food prep, dining, EDC, all hobbies, work, etc?
I'm not sure 3 is a reasonable number. I typically carry 3 knives (fixed, traditional, modern folder). But I use different knives for food prep, at the dinner table, while camping, while diving, etc. I don't use my dive knives for anything else, and none of my other knives are appropriate for diving. My kitchen/food prep knives aren't suitable for edc, diving, or bushcrafty type camping tasks.
I suppose I COULD choose a favorite kitchen knife (1); and use it for all food prep and dining, including camp & yard. I could choose a single fixed blade to use for other camp chores and EDC carry (2), and a single folder for all folding knife tasks (3)...but what kind of world are you condemning me to??? What if I break my folder because I didn't have an appropriate knife for the task? I'm SOL with a kitchen knife and whatever everything else fixed blade I chose.
I guess I could change my diet - eliminate meats and live on processed foods - so I wouldn't need a kitchen knife. Dive without a knife. Eliminate most knife related things from my world....
All I'd really need then is a suitable tanto with which to end my miserable life.
Thanks - Who knew the end was this easy...
