If you had $175......

What I’ve done for $175 or less since replying to this thread:

1. Real Steel Megalodon. These exceed the hype. It feels like a $500+ knife. The action is simply ridiculous, and .14” thick, full flat ground M390 is wonderful on a user.

2. Massdrop x Laconico Keen. Purple + groove. This arrived the same day as the Megalodon. While the Megalodon has undeniably smoother closing action (than damn near anything), the action here is very smooth and it rockets open. .16” thick, but full flat ground. Great ergos. Very minimalist design. Absolutely connects with me in every way.

3. Massdrop x Laconico Keen. Gray + groove. The only time I’ve ever purchased two of a model.

The Keen is the knife I’ve been searching for. I’ve flat out lost interest in other buys at the moment. Even the other Laconico stuff coming out (Alliance + Reate EZEs, MBK EZC and Minpin, Kizer Yorkie) and Liong Mah Eraser aren’t calling my name anymore. I feel at peace.

I’m enjoying surfing knife porn, but I feel great with what I have now.

Just bought one of these today after seeing this post and looking up the info. I'll let you know what I think when it gets in.

Thanks!

I’m most curious about how the bearing lock compares to the axis lock and also how the blade shape works with edc tasks that involve long cuts.

Since money is tight over here at the moment, I’ll be excited for you as well!

White River Small Game knife. I have an Owen Baker, Jr. custom ( Bakr-Bilt ) and am glad to see them partnering with him on some of their new knives. Last month I had $80.00, and got their ATK, which is proving to be really handy.

Would go for the new Doug Ritter folder. I missed out on the Benchmade version last time but actually like the looks of the new version better. Great steel, good size, nice clip, good blade for slicing, G10 scales, easy to open, made in USA, etc.

I am happy with my Pro-Tech as my EDC but this one is beckoning to be bought.

Three Rivers Manufacturing "Neutron". Practical, ergonomic, slicey as hell, and unbelievably well made in good old Massachusetts.

I do have $175... and when another vintage Emerson Specwar comes around I'll be buying it. If it's a couple more bucks on top that's not a problem.

I'd go with the Fallkniven H1 as a fixed blade option. You can get the one with the Thermorun handle for around $125.
