If you had dozens (or hundreds) of Busse knives, a large number guns, and many thousands of rounds of ammo that you needed to convert to cash legally, how would you do it?

Not asking for a friend. I will be retiring and moving to a much smaller place in the next couple of years. I have accumulated much stuff, and I have to cut way back.

For the non knife items, you might also look in your community to see if anyone whose services you need would be willing to barter.

Selling knives here is fine but certain knives can sit and sit at low prices with no nibblers. If you want things to move down the road, Ebay auctions with no reserves will sell your stuff at market value. Sunday evenings are the best time of the week to have auctions end.

If you have a local gun store that you trust, they can probably put your firearms out under consignment and maybe they'll sell in your local market.

When my Mom passed we found a local consignment and auction house. They came over and spent hours going through her Art, furniture and everything in between. They took what they thought people would buy and gave us a commission. It took about ten months to sell everything, but we didn't have to move it.
See if there's a local place that will take your items. Good luck

Fortunately for me I have two adult sons in their 30’s so any guns and ammo are no worries they share my passion. As for knives I retired five years ago and was looking at a collection of about 250 custom and high end factory knives. I thought of calling someone like Blue Ridge Knives or Arizona Custom Knives to see if they wanted to buy the whole lot. I did not. I have been selling them at a pace of about one a week for the last 2-3 years so I have sold about half of them. I am fortunate because I have the time to sell them and it has actually kept me busy as one of my retirement gigs.

I have seen others talk about companies that will come clean things out and sell it for you. The only thing is they take a large portion of the sale money.
