Hey guys! We've updated the forums software from 1.5.x to 2.2.x and that's changed / broken a LOT of stuff. 1620161416744.png

PAID SUBSCRIBERS Through a lot of trial and error, we've upped the limits on picture sizes.
Everyone else: uploading images directly to the BFC servers is a feature for paid subcribers. If you don't have a paid subscription, you can upload images to a photo hosting site like Flickr, Smugmug, Photobucket, etc. I recommend you use Imgur as they are fairly easy and straightfoward to use.

Go to imgur.com and either click the new post button:

drag & drop the image you want to upload, or copy and paste onto the page:

When you do, you'll get a screen showing the image you uploaded:

As you can see, you can add more pictures and a description to what you've uploaded there.

If you want to share it publicly on imgur, click "To Community" otherwise click "Hidden"

When you do so, you'll get a link to your image gallery that you can copy and paste here.

If you copy and paste the code (example below)

You'll get this:
Tada! An embedded imgur album with all the photos you uploaded that session & descriptions.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE

If you mouse over the image you uploaded, you'll see this come up in the top right corner:

Click the three dots and select "Share links"

What you want is the BBCode (forums)

Copy that, paste it, (see below)

and you'll get your full size image

Protip: if you put a "t" "m" or "l" before the file extension on the image you copied and pasted, it'll give you the thumbnail version of your image. You can then link to the full size image

produces this:

and
[url=https://imgur.com/Zc3VakS][img]http://i.imgur.com/Zc3VakSm.png[/img][/url]
produces this

which is a clickable link to the full size image.

Select where you want the image to come from, your library or take a photo or whatever:

In my case it's going to be a photo from my Dogs album, so I'm going to choose the image I want:

At the bottom of the screen you can the image size. Press that and it'll give you an option to choose which size you want. You'll want something smaller than 2mB in size. Pick the size you want, then click "Choose" in the bottom right.

My old iPad with iOS 9.3.6 makes these images come out perfect every time (using Image Size). The new stuff needs a lot of fiddling. So I just post pix on the old pad

If you resize using Image Size to 1,200 x 1,600 pixels, it will generally wind up under 1MB. Works for me on an old iPad with iOS 10.3 almost every time.

Even though Spark said he upped the image limits on this new software, I did have trouble uploading a 1,200x1,600 picture that was a bit over 1MB. Once I got it under, it uploaded fine. FWIW.

BTW T tiguy7 , I see all 3 photos you uploaded...

Thanks for the info. What I don’t get is that the Image Size app works automatically with the old iOS. All the wheels came off when I updated. Fortunately my old iPad is not capable of being updated beyond 9.3.6, so all I use it for is posting pics.

I don’t know what I’m doing , but I think it worked lol

Any chance you can add Fotki to the approved photo-hosting sites? That's where all my photos are hosted. Been using that host for years.

When I try to post a photo, I get an "Oops" warning and a message that says: The specified URL cannot be embedded as media.
