Hi,
Could someone let me know if importing an FS knife from the US to UK is allowed and if so is it easy?
I have imported general items but never a WW2 knife/dagger.
I looked on the Gov site but it wasn’t clear.
Any advice is very welcome.

Thanks

Is this a reproduction/replica or is it a genuine WW-II vintage knife with a known provenance?

It might make a difference if it is a documented collectable artifact rather than just another scary looking dagger.

Would likely be better to export yourself to the knife rather than the other way around.

The UK Govt site does not list any type of knife that would fit a double edged dagger such as FS.

But the site does say to :
You should contact your local police to check if a knife or weapon is illegal.

BTW First time seeing this page and I found it weird that out of some 21 types of knives/blade weapons listed as prohibited, 5 are ninja weapons that haven't been used in like 225 years. And yet Kunai are not prohibited.
Also learned that this type of knife actually has a description:

"Zombie knifeA knife with a cutting edge, a serrated edge and images or words suggesting it is used for violence."

Yes, no problem importing one. I've bought a SOG Desert Dagger on this forum and apart from the 20% VAT and 'handling charge' that the Post Offices levies, no issues.
Under UK laws, daggers are yet to be made illegal to own.

Thank you for answering from experience.👍
That has cleared up any doubt about placing the order.

You should not have any problems. You might like to post your question on Edge Matters (the UK forum)
