Improved Arc AAA available soon..

Good News. Need to replace the wallyworld special in the Mission wallet...

woohoo! That's great news. I've been kicking myself for not getting a couple when they were available for reasonable amounts of money.

Enkidu, know the feeling. I won't make that mistake this go-round. According to Mr.Gransee the CNC milling machines that produce the little buggers bodies are in-house.
Hopefully that will reduce the current prices over time and sales volume. The improvements include increased brightness and near 9 hour run-time. This, coupled with the new lithium AAA batteries that are now available, make for a excellent emergency and/or BOB light. I'll assume the lithiums will increase that run-time slightly. A nights worth of light, not much larger than a AAA battery on a keychain. Sweeeeet. :D

Sputnik,

Thanks for the info. Somehow I missed this at CPF. I am so glad to see Peter back in action. My Arc AA LE is one of the best items I have purchased - ever.

Sweet. Now I can get more for gifts.

People see my AAA, and ask. I show them recent prices and they cringe.

Glad he is back in business. I will help his sales... ;)

That's cool. I love my AAA LE. It's lived on my keyring for a couple years now. I can't believe that I gave a few to friends, but never got one for my wife, now they're beyond what I'll pay for a Keyring light. She'll have to do with an Inova and a Surefire E2D for now:)

:D

I snaffled two of the original AAAs back when thay didn't cost a lung and both corneas. I may well spring for a Premium and a couple more basics this time 'round.

Arc AAAs put the "E" in EDC.

I finally got one on E-Bay paid $30 which by my count ain't a bad price, I've seen 'em sell for $75.

I stumbled across the thread on CPF the other day and I meant to post it here, oh well ya'll know now.

As soon as they are available I'm gettin' some, I like the original AAA I have now, for it's size it can't be beat.

So you guys don't have to dig

Here's the first light to be near completion:

Arc-AAA Rev4

The Arc-AAA is designed to be an ideal EDC type light. With this latest revision, the improved output makes it more usefull for most types of tasks.

Standard: $29.95 Premium: $39.95

- Brighter
- Longer running
- More reliable

Compared to the previous AAA model, this version now features a tapered head (visible in pic above).

The Premium model now uses a more efficient LED. This increases output and runtime by over 80% (5.5 lumens full, 9 hours to 50% with ordinary AAA). Reliability is increased by using a less corrosive negative contact in the battery compartment.

We are in the testing phase right now and hope to start taking orders in June. Check back here for more information.

Thank you, Ryan. :) That really is the "meat" of a extremely long thread. My internet skills aren't up to that yet.

If it's $30 srp, I hope it's around $25 street price and free shipping at the vendor's side. If I can get it at the price I orig got my arc's over 2 yrs ago at $21, I'm more than happy.

It may be heresy on this forum, but arclights given as gifts tend to be actually carried and used by the recipients as opposed to the knives I've given that ended up in a drawer.

These flashlights are one size fits all gift for anyone :)

Hmmmm... Time to start buying flashlights again! All the CPF'ers were all twisted up in their undies about the tapered head. I think it looks nice. Considering all of these guys get screwed by M@g eventually, I would snatch a few of these up before Mega Tech Devices gets nailed with a lawsuit, too! :D

i guess the tapered head is ok but imho nothing to write home to mom about, glad they are back in biz though they do make good stuff, now when they come out w/a 1 or 2 123 batt model, will have to get one, have 2 of the AAA already.
