I inherited a Diamondblade knife and am curious if anyone has seen an independent test of them. On their website they claim superior performance to S30V and S90V. I wonder if anyone not connected to Diamondblade has done any serious testing to see if their claims are true.

As a cutter it might have some shortcuttings because the blade geometry is poor - very thick behind the bevel. But I'm curious to see if their claims about edgeholding hold true in real world testing and use. Eventually I'll find out for myself if it holds a good edge, but if anyone has information already I'd be glad to see it.

Friction Forged Knives - Diamondblade Friction Stir Processing - Knife Steel Nerds
Friction stir processing leads to a very hard (65-69 Rc) edge with a spring tempered spine in D2 tool steel. What are the properties of these knives?
