Yes its real, its not illegal to sell indian sambar stag, they just dont export it from India anymore, so its harder to find and more expensive.

I've been in this guy's warehouse and have seen his inventory.
It's all the real deal.
He was the last person to receive his shipment at the beginning of the embargo. He was also the agent IN INDIA and sold it to himself.

I might be spending the summer in India. If I was able to find some, would it be illegal for me to ship or bring some back in raw form? I think I would have to incorporate it into some art or something to get it through customs.

Is there currently an embargo in importing Indian Stag?

Try here http://www.elenhunting.com/ for your Stag needs ,Luca is a super guy and and has quality stuff. He usually has a big stock. As far as bringing it back into the US yourself I wouldn't try it without the proper licensing or it would probably be confiscated.Customs have big warehouses full of animal products and objects made from them that they have seized.Dave:)

India isnt the only place in the world that has sambar deer,we have plenty of them in Australia. The only problem is u have to go out and hunt them your self or have friends who do and they are probably the hardest of all game spiecies to hunt in Aust.I dont know if the US customs would stop Australian Sambar from entering or not but we have no problems handeling it legally as it is counted as a game spiecies. Some green groups are actually trying to get them reclasified as vermin because they are introduced, can you believe that.

India is the largest supplier of sambar stag shed antlers. They have stopped the exportation of it. There are no laws against importing it to the US. European red stag is just as nice, as is American elk antler.
