In the past week or so my watch has gotten off time 3 times, could there be something wrong with my watch or is it just a low battery issue ?
The light was not dim or anything, the knob wasn't pulled out, and it's never done this before in the few years I've had it.
I just changed the battery for good measure, but would like to know if the battery could've been the cause.

Any help would be appreciated.

how far off time.....a few seconds per day or many minutes per day.....details?

second hand being off lined up to the second markers on the dial is from the factory placement of the dial and movement. they arent lined up perfectly at the factory due to be being value or low cost production. many value watchers suffer from that.

btw "knob" is called a "crown."

One day last week I noticed that my watch was like an hour and 45min behind, then just yesterday I noticed it was about 8-10 min behind.

worn out battery likely wouldn't do that. its the quartz movement has some sort of issue. could be many things. too hard to diagnose without seeing it. cost is low enough I'd replace but if it has some sort of sentimental value you could get it looked at. to see if any debris is jamming up the gears and stopping it occasionally or if needs a new movement etc by a credible watchmaker that will work on value watches....be careful of low dollar battery swapping jewelers. some are good and some arent. good luck.

maybe easier to just use that apple i watch smart watch your grandma or momma who ever it was got ya.......:)

I actually won this watch on a forum giveaway, so it's no big deal if it stops working.

And nope, I won't be wearing a smart watch.
I've got a couple 1980's Casio watches to wear.

It's keeping time so far, I do keep my watch on at night so it's theoretically possible something happened while I was asleep.
Only time will tell.

good deal. maybe it was something such as a small piece of debris from battery change or such.....open case back...... that stopped movement and then came loose and wont interfere anymore. keep wearing until it dies......

I definitely intend on it.

I hate changing the battery in this though, maybe I'm just an idiot but the case back is hard as hell to snap back on.
The only method i i uld get to work was to wrap a thick piece of leather around it and put it in the vice.
Maybe not smart but it's the only thing that worked.

yeah you need a snapback case closing press setup but your idea basically is the same. nice work around.

It's been keeping time perfectly since.

I bet the crown had gotten popped but pushed back in when I used the light, that would explain why it was not out when I noticed the time way off.

No one enjoys replacing snap-on casebacks. I take mine to watch makers/repairers for a battery change. Unlike the guys at the mall, they'll replace and lube the gasket.
