Hi everyone! I just got this grip from a japanese seller and want to know anything about this exact model. The box is different from the new ones. It has a small icon below the steel type and the axis lock seems different. Any chance is a old model? or a good replica? Im seeing youtube videos about old bench unboxings and the box and paper are the exact same as this one. I would appreciate any info. Thanks!

Looks legit. It’s older, those are the old school sleeve boxes. 154cm steel was the predecessor for the base model Griptilian before S30v. The logo below the blade steel is for the black BK1 coating.

I believe they started using 154cm around ‘06, but can’t recall when they stopped. Somebody else might know. I want to say it’s been at least 10 years, but that’s a WAG.
and any idea why the axis lock looks different? Im looking for knives around that bench era and it seems different...

They had a two piece lock stud back in the day which is why it looks different. Seems like a legit knife to me.

That should be designated as a 550HG SBK. Large Griptilian (hole opener), Hollow Ground, Serrated, BK coated. I think the 154CM steel run started to replace the 440C blades around'05 or '06. I had a couple of early 440C Grips. They're one of the best pure user knives ever made. Nothing fancy, but everything works just like it's supposed to. If my state-park-ranger sister can't destroy a knife, it's got to be good.
