Hi Guys,

Just got myself a citizen eco drive diver's watch, it is a large one (48 mm dia) all stainless case with a special rubber band. I wasn't able to find a model or reference No. On the watch dial it says "300m professional diver's" and on the back "diver's watch 300m for mixed gas diving".
My only gripe/question is about the rubber band: it doesn't seem to be fastened in the traditional fashion, as the ends seems to be fitting solidly inside the case sides. Is anybody around familiar with this kind of watch band? Anybody would know if possible to remove the existing band and change for a nylon strap (rhino or similar)? I know a picture is worth a thousand word but I cannot take one at this time.
Thanks,

Fausto

Hi Fausto-

In absence of a picture from your personal collection, could you identify the watch from the Citizen site? That would certainly be helpful.

Gotta love the Eco Drives. I've got 2. Don't know about your model tho. Knifeforums.com has a section that is dedicated to watches and such. Lots of informed people over there.

Hi everybody,
Couldn't find it on the Citizen site but I have fished out the instruction booklet:
it is a "promaster 300m professional diver's" model BJ805, cal B873.
It has the overall look of the 1000M titanium monster of the aqualand collection on the citizen site.
I'll check as well the seiko and citizen forum.
Thanks
Fausto

it's the Eco Zilla, I have the same one, and yes, the rubber band is screwed onto the watch case. I talked to a few local watch retailers around LA, and they have all advised me they can only replace the band not conver it to a steel one. I love mine it is totally awesome, and huge , just the way I like my watches to be. Sorry about the conversion issue though.

I'm with you Hamachikama, I like this watch a lot and the rubber band doesn't bother me.
I was investigating about the possibility of fitting a different type of band only out of curiosity and because I'm partial to nylon watch bands (I normally put rhino bands on all of my watches).

The steel model comes out in two models, a rubber band and a steel band model, both have different band attachment method. If you own the rubber band model, it can't be replaced with a steel band. As a divers watch, rubber bands are far superior whilst diving, they don't catch up on things as much.
The Titanium model ( this is the one I wear ) only comes out with the rubber band.

Nice watch, enjoy it the next time you dive, or wear it every day to remind you that its time to explore the depths.
