I am looking for any information on a vintage fixed blade.
It is a Browning model 721 and made in Japan. It differs from other old
similar Brownings in that it has pins in the handle. I believe the overall length is
just over 7 inches and the blade is 3 1/2". Thanks very much.

I can tell you that it is a high quality knife. Might have been made by Hattori, but need a Browning or Hattori expert to confirm this.

Yes, this 721 really reeks of Hattori's hand. He made the 3718 and damascus hunter and others for
Browning so it's very likely. I am hoping someone knows what time period this knife is from.

I am planning on sending an email off to Seki to find out for sure. But before I do I figured someone might know what years
Browning offered this 721.

not necessary but I agree with this and feel the year was close if not 1975. I own the knife and many other Brownings, including this customized model, View attachment 522361View attachment 522362 It is a 610 of which I can find very little info. IMO Browning in those days did not want the buyer to know who made the knives. Even today many think Browning is part knife company. This and the fact that they did use various mfg. to produce the EXACT same knife makes it tough, again only IMO. Which is not worth that much. LOL. I know that AG Russell, is said to have made Browning knives, again only what I have been told. Regardless that is a great knife, as all the vintage Browning Knives are to me. If you have a desire, the scale maker is listed in my below link. Any facts you find, including on the 610,611, and 728 would be greatly accepted. Thanks and good luck.

Thanks treeshaker. Unfortunately the links to your photos do not work so I can't be completely sure which
knives you have.

I know this is an old thread, but is there any more info yet available? I got the 721 and wuld like to find some more info.

Sorry I forgot about this thread.
The Browning 721 was made by Ishikawa Cutlery, aka IC Cutlery or IC Cut. The knife maker was Hiro Masui, generally
known as just "Hiro".

Thank you. Much appreciated.

Hiro does elegant work. I am currently looking for his "Little blue Folder" Models SC 160 thru SC 167W. Very nice tool!
