Hello all, can you tell if this is a fake or a real British commando fighting knife? The Blade is 11 3/4' long. It is marked on top of the guard, Sheffield England Leather Scabbard, and has a Brass Tip Also maybe the age or any information you may have

can you tell me what the 2 leather pieces on the scabbard are for? Looks like they were fastened onto something

missing the leg straps/belts and buckles.
Since it is a commercial reproduction, they were probably left off/omitted intentionally, to make it easier to display.

Yeah, they are just sewing tabs. You can sew the knife were you want it. Most people don't use them, but as mentioned, sometimes they were used to sew on calf straps, etc.....

Can you give me a rough idea of the value of this knife? The scabbards not marked England, no markings on it, it has a brass tip on the end

as stated earlier, they were sewing tabs.
initially they were suppose to have been
sewn inside of the upper thigh pocket

but that meant having to undo the sewing
for any sort of washing :)
hence it made more sense to affix the f-s
knife on to the webbing...
