I am pretty much sold on getting the 0640 for my Main edc as an X mas gift. I have CRK taste on a ZT budget.

Gorgeous blade, PB washers ,non flip and 20cv steel made in the USA for about $200 atm which is close to my personal folder budget. Nice cutting power yet a thick tip.

Anybody use one of these daily? My only concern is termination of the thumb ramp on the handle a bit premature. But that might be in my head and I actually dont have an issue with the ugly CF scales. I like ugly.

Also what MXG or standard clips fit this model. I don't mind bending the factory clip to work for my needs but I'm down to get a nice replacement to try.

From what I have seen it will accept benchmade and emerson clips?

Thanks in advance. There are alot of reviews online but very few with actual use.

No input here other than I would have bought one yesterday when I saw it for $160 but it sold out before I could grab one.

I bought a 460 instead.

Lol. No help for sure. But I hear you . There are a few sites under $200 atm and that's a price I can justify.

I'm dead set against flippers , bearings and not made in the USA .

I own a 0640 and it is a good comparison with my CRK knives
The 0640 is an excellent knife ./
I have some ZT and the 0640 is one of my preferred
ZT does excellent knives on washers

It is quite close to an Umnumzaan or to an Inkosi

I have replaced the scales on mine since the green was really not fine
One thing to know is that the look of the scales varies from one scale to the other
I have handled a knife in a store and the scales were looking fine
When I ordered mine it was more yellow than green and I really didn’t like it
I have got some OD micarta and I like it better now
If you use the clip it will break-in after some time and it finally works fine on standard jeans
However it carries high and I will try a more shallow clip ( I have one on order)

Ok
Well said guys. You pretty much summed up what I was hoping. Sounds like a winner to me. Do you guys use the factory clip still or have you moved on?

Therom Therom
I think we like the same knives . Umnum , 21 CQC7a are among my favorites .

For a user I prefer PB washers over bearings and based on my experience the PB washers by ZT are great
0550, 0630 and 0640 have all been great
The 0640 is the less bulky of them whereas it has the more blade

it is thicker being the edge tha a 21 or umnumazann but quite similar to an inkosi
If you don’t have the budget for a large Inkosi or an Umnumzaan the 0640 is IO a great alternative

I'm not a huge fan of the finger grooves on the inkosi but I love the build . So this looks like a win. Thanks for the feedback.

Same for me
Price wise IMO the 0640 is a better pick than the Inkosi even if quality wise the Inkosi is still (IMO) better especially with the micarta inlays

I think you can go for the 0640, if you like the scales that is a good deal

for me scales plus clip will add 90$ to the value which make is just 10% cheaper than an inkosi.. at this price point value can be discussed
However I am a fan of Emerson design so I can deal with that ;)

In addition the overlay is a great concept found on the0393 and on the 0640
I like it a lot since you get the better of a liner lock and of a frame lock

I think I can be at Sub $230 with scales and or clip mods. So at that price it's a good deal. Can't wait to see the baby poop handles in person. Just placed an order from @whitty

USAmadeblade is a great place to deal with
You can ask him for advise, even as a dealer he is a good guy that can be trusted
I got some knives from him, lately and half track Ti spanto that was very expensive but I was not disappointed
I have exergues some emails with him before going for this kind of expensive knife and I am not disappointed
