Is it possible to use molle locks for the belt?

I own a RC-3 and i want to wear it at my belt.
Here in Germany it is not possible to get a tek-log Clip. It is out of Stock.
So my idear ist to use the Molle locks for that.
Would this work?

I did the same thing with my izula for awhile, but i found out that just using paracord to loop it around the belt is more comfortable. (but to answer your question, it does/should work)

I carry my 4 horizontal on my belt using the MOLLE locks. Been working fine for several months now with no issues.

we dont suggest using molle locks on a thick belt

I usually just use the boot clip - works fine on my belt. I removed those rubber stand offs and now it's a LITTLE bit thinner... (but i dont want to know what's in that gap ;)).

As for the availabilitly: THis says they're available - and I guess there are many more small dealers that sell them... (this was the 1st that came to my mind).

In addition to that: you could search the US bay - quite a few sellers ship overseas using not insured shipping (meaning: it's fairly reasonable..) and you wouldn't have to pay any custom fees since its less than 22 EUR.

//edit & PS.: www.toolshop.de has them, too. (available within 1-2 days - name: ''teklok'')

The molle lock will pop open on a belt. I'd use the paracord belt loop method until a tek-lok comes back in stock.

@ s_f Ahh Thank you very much for the link. I always looked about ESEE tek lok
and dont found anything.
On the Schanz Side are two sizes. Did you know which i need for my RC-3?

@Mrbladedude I always used the Clip. But last time i wear trousers with a slubbery integrated belt....and loose my RC-3.
I walked, packed with a bow, a big target etc and dont realized when the RC3 falled down in the snow.
I drove home without it, but found it later.

So now something "100 % secure" is needed.

Thank you Guys!!

yes it would work but not made for that and the people who have done it ,lost the knife or was on the verge of losing their knife, molle locks made for molle loops.
buy the molle backing and wear on belt ? or use para cord loops around your belt as seen in instruction sheet or ESEE webpage

I edc my 3 with molles with no problems. My belt is leather and about the same thickness as the gap in the locks. There is just enough room for it to slide a little on the belt. If they are on there tight and don't move they will pop open.

Sorry - i dont know that. But these are the two standard teklok sizes and you should be able to find the dimensions of the total thing and distances of the holes online... somewhere... (IIRC it's an invention from www.blade-tech.com).

OR: Does anyone else know which one fits the stock RC-3 sheath? The large or the small tek-lok?

About your loss: I'm not sure if a tek-lok would work without a belt. As far as i understand it it still forms a complete loop - so you shouldn't be able to use it with sweat pants and you'd have to have a belt to use it...

I have never liked Tech-loks or molle locks. The molle locks pop open and the tech-loks are bulky and hard for me to use. But I am not a soldier anymore and don't walk around with all that molle gear on anyway. The paracord with cordlocks works so well for me, I have even removed the Tech-loks from other brand knife sheaths and use paracord with them.

Mmmhh...did you have a picture how you wire it?

I try´d a few times to use paracord with the sheet but never was satisfied.
It took me always to long to bring it at my belt and anyway i dont found the right method to wrap it.

The molle lock will work but it could come undone. If you can't get a tek lok then maybe try getting a Spyderco G-clip, they work sort of like the boot clip but a little stronger
