is the Benchmade - Mini Bugout good?

I just ordered a Benchmade Mini Bugout Cf Elite, Model: 533BK-2 (all black). I got a great deal at just over $100 so I hope it's not a China fake (I will be able to tell the difference so it's worth a shot). I'm also buying the copper flytanium scales to match the look of my EDC copper zippo and pen. I love the patina the copper stuff gets. The regular Bugout has been great and I don't mind the flex of the regular scales on that one...it's a weight thing.

I've had multiple Bugout's, so Im not gonna sit here and talk trash on them. They are solid knives that will do most things just fine. I'm just saying that the BM tax is real...

For that price, 9 times out of 10 imma get a Hogue Deka which comes in Magnacut for 10 to 20 dollars less than a s30v Bugout. Plus I just like Hogue as a company more then BM.

If I was feeling really frisky I skip both and try to catch a drop of TRM Neutron 2's. But I'm a little biased towards the Nuetron lmao...

I've got both sizes of the BugOuts, and they really are pretty useful! They carry much smaller than they are, and you can put one helluvan edge on them!

In its weight class, it's hard to beat. A 1.5oz knife with a near 3in blade and enough handle to get a good grip is not that common. It's effortless to carry. And it has a thin slicey blade. It will handle normal pocketknife jobs just fine. I'd try to pay less than MAP which isn't too hard if you shop around. GPKNIVES is a good place to start for Benchmade.

I like mine and it’s getting a lot more pocket time than I thought it would.

They’re cool little knives. I own the full size BO. Kinda overpriced due to the butterfly logo on it, but still worth it I’d say. Fine slicer, good edge retention and extremely lightweight. If you’re open to suggestions I’d say get the gerber fastball. Got one for $90; same steel, about the same size, USA made, aluminium scales and all around much more solid build. Retrospectively I think I would’ve kept that one over my bugout if I hadn’t sold it before I got the latter.

I love my Bugouts, but I have to put this out there: they are not a knife to abuse. For normal, light duty, they are fine. If you want a hard use knife, the stock Bugout is not the choice.

I think I paid less than $100 for my full size Bugout (535BK-2) when they were first introduced. That it's about doubled in price these past few years would probably make me look elsewhere if I were in the market for a new knife of that size and design but it's a helluva good knife for EDC. I love mine.

I have the full size in carbon fiber and CF-Elite scales and a mini in CF-Elite. These three knives probably combine for the most pocket time of my collection.
