Is the Izula folder ever going to happen?

I told myself a while ago I would buy another folder unless it's the Izula. Is it ever going to happen or do I need to get the Manix 2, which is currently begging me to buy it, to fill the void of a new knife. I've been trying so hard to not spend any more money on a knife but the manix 2 looks and feels so nice. I live close to smoky mountain knife works and go there often to fondle knives I want but know I shouldn't spend the money on. It's getting harder and harder. I also have some amazon gifts cards from Christmas just begging to make the manix happen, but I really want the Izula folder. I have the Izula II and love it but fixed blade edc carry isn't for me. She's in my bag right next to my Wave, but I want a cool new pocket knife and want to know if any of you guys know anything that I don't about the Izula folder. Thanks guys.

I love my Izula 2, I do carry it sometimes... I tied paracord onto the sheath and attach it to my belt loop and let it hang inverted in my front right pocket. I'd probably be interested in a folding version as well... I can't speak in regard to the likelihood of esee actually producing one though... maybe if enough people write in and ask about it they will oblige.
I emailed them out of curiosity, we will see what they say...

I would have bought a few by now I love the prototype design. Not sure what the deal is but I'm not holding my breath

There has literally been buzz about the release of an Izula folder since I signed up for the forums. Maybe it will happen one day, but until it h8ts the streets it's a running joke more than a knife.

This is actually a great idea.
Maybe if 100 of us email to ask about it they'll see that there's a lot of interest.
What email address did you send it to?

Just as soon as the Easter Bunny finishes the final design and the Boogey Man starts production..................

Nope.

I would have bought one years ago but I'm no longer interested. My tastes have changed and if I want the izula experience I just carry my izula.

If I were you, I'd buy the Manix. The Izula folder has no clear release date, people have been talking about it for ages. Personaly, I just lost interest. There are loads of lovely folders coming out all the time.

I'll be honest, I don't think lack of interest is, or ever has been, the problem. It just seems like one of those projects that's cursed. Heck, if I remember correctly they got so far as to make a prototype with Lionsteel before that fell through and I think they had another solid seeming agreement in place with a different company before that disintegrated, too. I could be wrong about that, but for whatever reason the Izula folder seems to have some sort of albatross weighing it down.

Don't for the the quality assurance by the Tooth Fairy and shipping by Santa Claus.

They have said this every year for like 3 years. I'm no longer interested.

+1 to this. Any interest I ever did have has long since evaporated.

It's a shame things have dragged out this long on the Izula folder. I'm a huge ESEE fan...have all their fixed blades on my camping bags, bug outs, etc. I would pay good money for a USA-made Izula folder. But you guys are right...it's literally been "just about completed" for, I don't know, six or more years now? Somewhat disappointing, as ESEE is a quality brand.

I got to see a prototype 2 years ago at Blade Show. It was a little small for my taste. I think they thought the same thing and went back to the drawing board. I can tell you if it is ever released it will be well made. I think they would want to make it pretty amazing after all the hype and build up to it. We shall see!

I was interested 4 years ago. Then I naught a sage 2. I'm good.
