So I'm getting ready to make a small forge to make some knives and small tools with and was going to go with a propane setup and then I saw a few videos for small foundry that can run on waste oil and I thought that would be cheaper. As far as I can tell the only difference is that the foundry is up right so you can set a craft in there to melt your metal in and a forge out puts the flame out of the front and is basically the same just tipped on its side. Am I missing some fundamental thing here or is it just that simple?
