I've had some feedback that some folks are comparing these to commercial versions that go for a couple hundred dollars. To be clear, these aren't commercial versions, these are the ones issued to DEVGRU, hence the no markings other than the serial number.
I don't expect most knife buyers to have an interest--hoping to find specific collectors. Kind of like there are a lot of Colt revolvers out there, but if you find one owned by a known figure from the old west it goes for more. If you want a typical CQD then yeah, these aren't for you. I'm looking for a specific kind of collector, similar to the kind who spend this kind of money on an Emerson CQC-6, and I realize those kinds of folks are few and far between. Thanks.
These were issued back in 2000/2001 and I figured I'd keep them and someday either give them to nephews or my own kids if I ended up with some. As it is, my boys think they are neat but would rather we got a UTV. These are unused (on the Mk1 I did have the holster on my kit for a brief time then decided I'd rather use my cheaper pocketknife) and I no longer have the box for the Mk 1. As you can see in the pics, they are sterile other than the serial numbers (which I hid for posting here--not sure if these are ever counterfeited but if so, no need to help the frauds). I wasn't sure how to price these since I couldn't find any for sale online--which makes sense to me--but I did see an Emerson knife that was made for a SEAL go for about $5k. Since these were actually issued at DEVGRU for a brief period and that comes with some scarcity and interesting pedigree I figured I'd see what the market will bear. I prefer to not put my complete pedigree online, but serious buyers can contact me directly and we can chat and hopefully dispel any concerns about my background and their legitimacy. It's the internet, so no worries expecting some bona fides with this kind of cash on the line. Prefer Paypal but can also accept a direct transfer bank to bank--I'll cover shipping and insurance (they'll be sent requiring a signature, etc). Asking $6200 each, but would prefer to sell as a set for $12000. Thanks.
