I will post more pics. It’s been a long expensive road for sure. I did not quite understand how long it was going to take when I started this build. It still needs buttoning up and sides put on and the exhaust fan installed. Then painted lol
Is the heat going to hurt stainless steels? I know carbon steel you can normalize but not so easy with stainless. What the minimum size hole it makes? Just asking because I may hit you up at some point.
The HAZ (heat affected zone) from a plasma is very thin. I would guess around .01 thick maybe less. The steel behind the HAZ does get hot but no where near hot enough to affect its hardness. I would think the smallest hole I could do would just be a single pearce at around .035”-.050”. After cutting you just clean the edge alittle of the grinder and heat treat like normal. This is mostly to remove any stress risers along the edge.
