Yes I just can’t find vintage boys axes in my area. This is the 7th TT kelly perfect double with the bevels I have found. They are everywhere here but no boys axes! Or cruisers for that matter.

Has anyone come across this type of eye cap and or have any info as to what and why?
It looks like a wedge/cap combination, as discussed in this thread:

People scoff (not you guys, you get it) at me buying trash at the scrapyard. But hey, this was all $15 including a good Norlund head.

I think that it is the inside of a wood stove. It is very heavy cast iron and it was basically free. I see it as part of a home made forge in the future.Yup sir I totally understand.
Great little haul you found there...nice bevel.
The campfire set up is very sweet! For car, family camper camping at the state sites...if that's what its meant for...looks neat
Great score I would say any where, any day

Ok guys... It looks like I have crossed the Rubicon; Till this day, I've kept buying old user axes. Those NOS hatchets, house axe will collect dust on the shelf, so I guess I've just officially become an axe collector
plumb hammer, plumb hatchets, plumb house axe, plumb boy's axe, craftsman boy's axe, imperial prividence knife

It is funny you said that: My first idea about this hammer was to drill out permabond and find some good old hickory handle. It is actually 22oz hammer.Great score there, the Imperial fixed blade is awesome too.
Now I can see not using the half hatchet and the riggers axe, but based on it's sticker I think the house axe has sunk it's bit a couple times and maybe could be used.
It's about new, but I wouldn't exactly consider it 100% NOS.
Btw Ive got my grandfathers PLUMB fiberglass handled 20oz framer, and I absolutely hate the handle.
It happens to be a pretty uncomfortable hammer so I almost never use it.
I hope it's better in a smaller size like you've got there , that way you can get some use out of it.
it seems there is something lodged in your axe handleOk guys... It looks like I have crossed the Rubicon; Till this day, I've kept buying old user axes. Those NOS hatchets, house axe will collect dust on the shelf, so I guess I've just officially become an axe collector

Old craftsman boy's axe felt outnumbered by plumb army and committed harakiri using imperial providence knifeit seems there is something lodged in your axe handle

That is how it starts!
Definitely a great score, especially that DB can't remember what they call them when they've got a proper curved handle made for a DB.I managed to find a few things today...even with a snowstorm that fizzled out and my boys home with no school due to the 3"noreaster...ok, maybe 4".
Saw is a Disston, if the picture was better you would see the etching too
Legitimus...with a nasty full length, all the way thru crack...canyon really but it was the free one in the bunch
Miller's Falls Hatchet, a gimme and always a no brainer. I am taking it home if it has my name on it
Legitimus Pulaski Fire
CD?...I will need to look into what this is.
And this 11" long DB, 4&1/2" at each bit, on a 25" handle
Total weight at 4&1/8 lb.
Not bad for the kids being home on a snowday.
