It followed me home (Part 2)

What they call Ramsey is usually called a Canadian pattern. I refer to what they call Pennsylvania and Pittsburg patterns both as just Pennsylvania pattern. I hope you get them both hung and sharp, ready to use. Then report back as you start to broad axe hew. Watch "These Old Cabin Logs" instead of "Axe To Grind" If I remember, there may be a little more information.
Thank you for the exact name. It is real treasure.
I incorrectly assumed it was part of "Axe to Grind": I watched that video 2 years ago, but did not give it full attention (for my excuse; at that time I was only interested in finding very good quality Boy's size Axe).

That little Hickory hatchet in front has a Plumb logo on the back. You don’t often see who was making those Hickory's.

I got another 5lb Kelly Standard!
The little broad is a Craftsman with the sing song logo. That’s a Falls City next to the Craftsman

The pulp hook has a name on it.

This thing is something else!
Dr Rineharts Handy Hog Holder 1931
UDEALoZ.jpg

This was a gift, given to Larry and he was incredibly generous in allowing me to have it.

It was used to force stubborn hogs to move by the levering them around by snout. The ends are two sizes for big and small snouts. Illegal now days for animal cruelty concerns of course.

Some close ups of the stamps.

Several pieces here in this rescue are very interesting...the large clipper, the small clipper, the vise, hand pruners, the Thermos is immaculate, excellent condition...some nice Stanely Tool items and the William's spud(?) Wrench is great.
The axe has some cheek and the handle is great. The pole has past shrooming that's been ground or filed, making it hard to see what's stamped yet.

Two Disston saws...one is the panel saw, great blade and teeth, the other is the folding pruning saw with teflon coated blade;)

Happy Saturday

Well it’s not a “Miller” or “JB” size haul lol but it’s mine. This is my first ever council tool axe and it is my first Pulaski axe. It has the twist in the hoe end. I’m guessing it’s from the early 80’s? Just from the handle and the looks of it but I don’t know much about these at all. Then there is a prewar Stanley number 5 and a nice perfect handle screwdriver. No name but I think it’s a Ryan’s by the rivets. Thanks for lookin!

The dog head is awesome.

An interesting follow up to the Handy Hog Holder. Looking for information on it, I found them listed in numerous places as both 1831 and 1931...

Eventually I was able however to find the patent and despite the newspaper saying 1831 and despite it looking like 1831 on the stamp, it is in fact 1931.

Pretty good score man! I'm itching for warmer weather and some yard sales!
Pray tell jb, what is the axe on the bottom? I'm interested!!

True Temper Flint Edge Connie.

I really like the Peavy tool. 4" handle? Any origin markings or maybe chances of closer shots of the handle?
How does a guy package something that shape/size? :)

Cardboard, I've done it before! It's on the heavier side for coast to coast shipping though. I'll see if I can estimate.
