Good Idea to get bothView attachment 999920
I think I’m gonna “need” 1 of both .
Upon recently getting the behemoth Chopper on a Friday sale, I have a whole new standard of what a real knife should be & do... (my hands down most heavy duty & favorite knife)
thankfully we also have some really great knife laws here, & I can edc all of my biggest blades,
life is so good!
I just gotta get faster on hitting the keyboard “refresh button” in the Next Sale post...!Good Idea to get both
Just get a MC and HC on the Pre-order this fridayI just gotta get faster on hitting the keyboard “refresh button” in the Next Sale post...!
Definitely will try! Much appreciated.Just get a MC and HC on the Pre-order this friday
Ditto.HC for me on Friday!
In the secret of his dungeon Nate decieved them all for he had forged a master knife: the HC... one knife to rule them all
You forgot the BC! The BC rules them all!
Here is some info for you Jonny:
The original proto HC: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/heavy-duty-3v-chopper-prototype-sold.1382894/
The production BC: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/closed-pre-order-12-behemoth-chopper.1541591/
From the Maestro:
"... Instead I'll release a variation of the original Heavy Chopper which will be a 1/4" thick 10" Chopper that fits within the new Medium Chopper profile but isn't stupidly over built. It won't be obtuse like the original, it will have tall thinner grinds with the same bevel angle and S grind used on the Competition Choppers, only it will be left a little thicker behind the edge for durability. We've found a good sweet spot for this kind of geometry and we're going to use it. At about 23 ounce the weight falls almost exactly between the MC and the BC (just like the original). It will be stout enough but it's still going to be a cutter not a kludge."
IMHO, I think that the HC will be a very worthwhile pattern to try out for a CPK enthusiast which will go beyond being a mere shorter version of the BC since it has the CPK-CC DNA incorporated into it.
Good point Mat, I was wondering about this myself. So this means the cutting geometry of the HC will be closer to the CC than the BC?
Well it better be rock solid because I plan to chop some hardwood with it this winter... and at -20 I have had some knives fail
It won't chip out or break, I guarantee it.
For me a knife with a 12 inch blade is more of a machete than a knife
10 inch blade is probably perfevt for a large blade that I can still carry on the trails
Just my humble opinion of course
