I have been reading this forum about j.a. henckels and how they bought out some companies and put their name on knives from these companies. I have this pocket knife and I am curious if this could be just a run of the mill knife from one of those companies or if it is an actual henckels knife, and if so is it still not really anything out of the ordinary. I am a newbie so I hope this works. Thanks
George

If you copy the "IMG code" from under the Image Links box on the right, that will give you a direct link to the pics themselves. It looks like you have the HTML file embedded in your IMG tag now. Here's the correct IMG tag (remove the space between the opening square bracket and IMG).
Code:

The "friodur" marking simply refers to the proprietary steel (stainless) and ice hardening process Henckels used to use.

Yes I remember reading that somewhere, thanks for your reply. So, this is not really anything unusual, just an average pocket knife?

I don't see anything unusual but there are people here much more knowledgeable than I. It looks like you have a Henckels lobster pattern knife in good condition.
