This knife was recommended for me to make after I posted an "Elvish inspired knife" awhile back. I have a lot of hours into it, and it was quite a challenge, but very rewarding.

This is a closely made replica to the knife given to Aragorn by Celeborn, the elf, in The Fellowship of the Ring and carried by Aragorn throughout the movies. I know there are a lot of different stylized versions of this knife out there, but I did my best to make this one as close to the original as I could manage. The biggest deviation is probably that the scabbard is made with brass sheet for the end caps instead of cast brass like the original. It's not perfect, but I did the best I could given the equipment that I have available.

The knife is hand forged from a leaf spring, and precisely heat treated in an electric oven. This knife is not just a movie prop! It has a 1/4" thick blade, and feels heavy and solid in the hand.

If you need a good looking blade to kill some orcs with or maybe survive a zombie apocalypse, than this is the knife for you!

Specs:

OAL: Approximately 18"

Blade Length: 12.25"

Handle Length: 5.75"

Blade Thickness: 0.25"

Steel: Leaf Spring (Most likely 1070-1080 or 5160)

The elvish inscription on the blade (translated: Foe of Morgoth's Realm) is hand engraved.

Ironwood Handle

Brass Pommel

The scabbard is a wooden last covered with leather with riveted brass sheet end caps.

Absolutely gorgeous. I think I might have partaken in that thread way back when. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes on this and see how long I can hold off my interest, as this knife is right up my alley...
